Design Details
Hamlet Square is a medium-scale residential architectural project comprising approximately 30 residential units, located on the outer edge of a village context within an established residential area. The development was conceived as a coherent apartment scheme, responding to a wide-fronted yet shallow site condition and its relationship to the surrounding urban fabric.
The architectural design focused on the careful articulation of volumes and materials to create a façade with depth, rhythm, and warmth. Interest was generated through proportion, layering, and a restrained material palette, allowing the building to integrate comfortably within its context while maintaining a clear contemporary identity.
The site geometry informed the internal organisation of the apartments. The shallow depth allowed for efficient, near-square layouts, ensuring that all principal rooms benefit from natural light either from the main façade or from rear yards. Large openings were introduced to maximise daylight penetration and visual connection, reinforcing a strong relationship between internal spaces and their immediate surroundings.
A defining aspect of the proposal was its orientation towards a large, undisturbed tract of land opposite the site. Views towards this open and green context were deliberately framed to extend the perceived depth of the apartments, allowing the interiors to feel more generous than their footprint might suggest and enhancing the overall quality of the living spaces.
KEIRO Architects were responsible for the architectural design and planning of the project. The visuals and documentation presented illustrate the approved architectural proposal developed by the studio.
