Sorbino

Sorbino is a retail project developed for an international fashion brand within a pre-existing commercial space along one of Sliema’s most frequented pedestrian streets. The intervention involved the complete rethinking of a dated and spatially inefficient interior, transforming it into a clear, accessible, and brand-consistent retail environment.

The design approach focused on maximising the potential of the existing footprint while allowing the products to remain the primary visual focus. Spatial organisation was simplified to improve visibility from the street and clarify internal circulation, creating a retail environment that is legible, open, and commercially efficient.

Material selection played a deliberate role in shaping the character of the space. Timber panelling was introduced to bring warmth and a sense of liveliness, while light-coloured open shelving was designed to recede visually, allowing the colour and texture of the garments to stand out. Floor finishes were selected for their tactile quality, with tile surfaces recalling the texture of fabric while offering the durability required for a high-traffic retail setting.

Developed within a tight commercial timeframe, the project required a disciplined and focused design process. The resulting interior balances brand identity, spatial clarity, and material restraint, delivering a contemporary retail space that enhances product visibility while remaining responsive to its urban context.
